  13. 2.x designed to operated in the background while you work with other

  17. minor, seventh, major seventh, minor seventh, suspended fourth, and seventh

  20. Kinetic Music Machine [KMM]  is an algorithmic composing program
  21. particularly suited to developing original material. It consists of a
  22. multi-page workspace, and a toolbox of computation functions, abstractly
  23. represented as synth modules, complete with output and inputs. These are
  24. connected in real time with the mouse, as you listen to the changes.
  25. Technically, the program is considered a direct manipulation metalanguage.
  26. This puts it about halfway between a music programming language and a video
  27. game. All input is with the mouse, where you are either connecting modules
  28. together tinker toy fashion, or you are dialing in parameter values. The
  29. program features constant real time feedback: every change you make is
  30. immediately seen and heard. Simple patterns are done almost instantly, and
  31. then step by step you can go on to develop the patterns into full musical
  32. compositions of virtually unlimited complexity and subtlety. (Software Tools

  35. MusicEase 4.04 [ME404]  lets you create, edit, print, and play music

  38. Melodia/Pro [MELPRO]  is an algorithmic composing program set up as groups
  39. of musical/algorithmic process such as step sequencers and random
  40. generators. You make connections to these processes while the music is
  41. running in real time, and modify the processes as you listen to the changes.
  42. Although the musical compositions created with Melodia can be quite similar
  43. to those created by KMM, Melodia is higher level in concept and use, more
  44. like a spreadsheet than a programming language. It includes powerful built
  45. in tools for converting ASCII text, DNA sequences, and integer data files of
  46. almost any type to musically intelligible patterns and source material. For
  47. maximum performance a 486/33 cpu or better is recommended. (Software Tools

  50. Melodia / Sound Card [MELSC]  is an algorithmic composing program for all
  51. Adlib compatible sound cards. It includes an editor/librarian for the FM

  54. Melodia/TS [MELTS]  is another of the Melodia series of algorithmic music
  55. programs that share a similar interface but use different methods to
  56. generate the music. It uses a table sequencer which provides smart
  57. multi-level stage sequencing, similar to what was available on the old
  58. modular studio synthesizers, but far more sophisticated. It also uses a
  59. unique type of rhythm generator, a bouncing ball confined in a box, that is
